To this day, the Spanish language contains hundreds of words that originated from Arabic, including “sugar”, “until” and “shirt”.Islamic influence in Spain and surrounding areas began as early as the 8th century and continued to the 13th century, resulting in all of the Arabic loan words we hear in Spanish today.Check out the video below the hear some of the similarities in these two beautiful languages.
