Japan is working on a project to develop mobile mosques for the Muslim visitors to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. On Monday, a model of the project got unveiled in the city of Toyota, Aichi Prefecture with an air-conditioned prayer room that can fit 50 worshipers.

The project is a large white and blue truck that pulls up outside Olympic stadiums and venues and slowly expands into a place of worship. “The possibility that there might not be enough mosques for Muslim visitors in 2020 is alarming for a country that considers itself part of the international community,” the CEO of Yasu Project, Yasuharu Inoue, said.

The 2020 Summer Olympics tournament is scheduled to take place from the 24th of July to the 9th of August 2020.

WE SAID THIS: What a decent and thoughtful way of implementing the co-existence concept worldwide!
