#7DeedsOfPeace: What Tara Emad Did for Her Birthday Will Give You All the Feels
Tara Emad once again proves that she’s just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Instead of celebrating her birthday with a big bash, tons of presents and making the day all about her like we all do, the top model and actress decided to make a difference and dedicated her birthday week to raise awareness on issues that actually matter. Dubbing it as #7DeedsOfPeace, every day Emad and her friends (many of whom are also very visible personalities) visit a place or a group of people in need and spend time there, shedding light on the issue while inspiring others to lend a helping hand themselves.
Day 1: Blood donation
On the first day, Emad decided to conquer her fears and donate blood for the first time. In Kasr El-Aini, the blood donated goes to children in Abu Rawash Hospital. She highlighted the importance of the donations and reminded us that five minutes could literally save somebody’s life.
Day 2: Visit a pet shelter – ESMA
Dedicating the second day of her journey to our furry friends, Emad went to ESMA Shelter and saw firsthand the care and love those animals receive, reminding us all to treat our pets as well as strays with more compassion and kindness.
Day 3: Visit a children’s cancer hospital – 57373
At one of the biggest hospitals in Egypt, Emad showed us that money isn’t the only thing you could offer. Spending just a couple of hours could make all the difference in the world and will help paint smiles on children when they need it the most.
Day 4: Visit EPAVI – Egyptian Parents Association for Visually Impaired
By visiting EPAVI, Emad revealed the struggles of the visually impaired as well as their families. She also taught us to be grateful for the blessings we have and to put them to better use.
Day 5: Visit an orphanage
On the fifth day of her journey, Emad spent the day at an orphanage playing and getting to know all the children, while reminding us of the true unsung heroes who love and take care of the kids as if they are their own.
Day 6: Visit refugees
The sixth day was dedicated to another importnat issue: the refugee crisis. She visited refugees and highlighted the struggles they go through each and every day. She reminded us that we should do more to help them integrate in our society.
