Skincare Products to Try this Summer
Taking care of your skin should be a year-round essential in your life. But summer is the perfect time of year to hit the refresh button and try new things. So if you wanted to incorporate CBD oil into your skincare routine, but haven’t had the chance to visit a canada weed dispensary, then with it now being summer, this may be the best time to get round to it. No matter what you choose to use this summer, hopefully, you’ll notice some positive results to your skin.
And since it has been properly summer for almost a month, now is the time to try these awesome summer-friendly products.
Of course, there are plenty of great products from multiple brands and price points out there, but these babies are well tried and tested.
All of these products, except for The Body Shop’s and DKNY’s, can be found in drugstores and big pharmacies. Note that their availability varies from time to time.
SPF
Every skincare expert agrees on the fact that no matter how well you cleanse/tone/moisturize your face, it’s all worth nothing without proper sun protection. Assuming that you live in Egypt or the Middle East, you will need all the protection you can get. Therefore, it’s best to opt for an SPF 50.
La Roche Posay’s Anthelios Extreme Fluid is light, blends without leaving a white overcast, and being matte makes it perfect for summer. It also offers protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays, which not a lot of other SPFs offer.
If you’re as lazy of a re-applier as basically everyone else, try Nivea’s Moisturizing/Invisible Protection Sun Spray. It’s easy and it doesn’t need blending, so it won’t ruin your makeup.
FACE
Makeup Removal:
Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution is a makeup artist favorite and great for removing your makeup year round. It’s as gentle as water and removes every bit of makeup.
If your skin is more on the oily side, try their blue bottle, which is specifically for oily/combination skin.
Cleanse:
When it comes to cleaning your face in the morning, it’s best to use a creamy or gel-like formula (stay away from foaming formulas as they’re too harsh for your face).
Try Nuxe’s Aroma-Perfection Purifying Cleansing Gel, which has oil-balancing properties, or The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash for something that is so fresh it’ll instantly wake you up.
Moisturize:
You want something lightweight, which will also keep you moisturized even in the hottest of days. The La Roche Posay Hydraphase/Hydreane range and the Bioderma Hydrabio range fit the bill.
Try their “légere” (light) version if you’re oily/combination, or go for the “riche” (rich) version if you have drier skin. The Bioderma Sebium Mat range is perfect for keeping the shine away, while the La Roche Posay Effaclar range is amazing if you’re facing some acne issues.
Refresh:
The hot weather, the scorching sun, the inhumane humidity can all make your face feel drained and tired in a very short time. The best way to refresh your face during the day is by using some face mist.
Avene’s huge bottle of Thermal Spring Water is a cult favorite and is perfect for the gym. You can also find Evian’s Facial Spray in some drugstore in three sizes. The smallest size is perfect for carrying around in your handbag.
For something that’s more luxurious, and much more strong smelling, there is nothing like Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir. This is basically a spa in a bottle. Now, your friends (and possibly your mama) could make fun of you for spraying your face every hour, but trust me, it’s well worth it.
BODY
Deodorant:
There is an abundance and huge variety when it comes to deodorants. However, the Bourjois one with iced green tea is extra amazing. It feels so cooling when you spray it on and smells super fresh.
If you feel like splurging, DKNY’s Cashmere Mist will put any other deodorant to shame. It’s basically a deodorant and perfume in one, so that could justify the price a bit. (Although, you’re throwing all reason outside the window when you buy a DKNY deodorant!)
Scrub:
This summer’s hottest products from The Body Shop are from their Early Harvest collection. The raspberry or blueberry body scrub are absolute must tries. They have the consistency and the smell of raspberry/blueberry jam. It will make your entire bathroom smell like berry goodness. (Warning: you will want to eat yourself while using this product!)
Cleanse:
The Body Shop hits the nail again with their shower gels in fragrances like Vineyard Peach, Pink Grapefruit, Passion Fruit and more. The Passion Fruit especially smells like a heavenly summer getaway.
Moisturize:
Now, summer may not be as drying to your skin as winter, but it’s still better to keep your body moisturized on a daily basis. In summer you obviously want something that’s quick to work with and that dries instantly. The Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturizer is the perfect thing to take with you to the gym or to the pool, as you can massage it in and wash it off in the shower, and you’re done!
Vaseline’s Spray & Go is a revolutionary product. It is super easy to use, dries instantly and does not leave a residue.
For a more luxuriously-smelling option, go for The Body Shop Sorbet in its many fragrances. The whipped gel texture is gorgeous and it leaves your skin soft for a very long time.
Lips:
The dry hot weather is a nightmare for your lips. If you try The Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, you will never be satisfied with any other lip balm, ever again. This cult favorite will keep your lips in good shape for as long as 5-6 hours. Apply a thick layer of the balm before you sleep and another layer before you go out during the day. It also comes in sticks for more of an on-the-go-friendly option.
If you want a drugstore alternative, try the Labello Milk & Honey lip balm. Just don’t blame us if you break your fast on it!
Hands:
You want a cream that will dry in a second and that will leave your hands smelling nice in these sweaty days. Caudalie’s Hand and Nail Cream is the quickest drying one I’ve ever tried and it’s packed with antioxidants, which are amazing for the skin.
Soap & Glory’s Hand Food smells so incredible it’s basically like perfume for your hands. The 50 ml tube is the perfect size for carrying around, especially if you’re traveling.
