Nothing can help you beat the heat quite like a refreshing drink. With temperatures at a constant high and a heat wave taking over cities across the region, we can’t just rely on hitting up pools and dressing light.
We need something stronger, cooler and way more refreshing. Meet the region’s coolest drinks to help you beat the heat this summer:
Kippis’ Maui Wowie
Ever wanted to watch a bartender shake up a cocktail shaker to whip up the ultimate drink? Kippis is Cairo’s take on the bar experience without the added buzz. Serving non-alcoholic sparkling cocktails, we recommend their Maui Wowie, a special cocktail served with lemon cordial, orange shrub, grapefruit juice, and UGO lemon.
So Matcha’s Strawberry Cream Matcha
Introducing the Riyadh crowd to Matcha back in 2021, So Matcha is all about celebrating the green powder drink. Beyond being able to stock up on all things matcha, including buying their matcha kits and matcha powder, you can indulge in their creative drinks.
A must-try is their Strawberry Cream Matcha, topped with a dollop of foamy strawberry and cream.
Black Tap’s Cookie CrazyShake
A milkshake already has a special place in our hearts, whether it is a classic vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry shake. There is a way, though, to up the beloved drink.
Meet the freak shake; a massive milkshake bedazzled with crazy toppings that towers over the table. Dubai’s Black Tap specializes in those very drinks, and a must-try has to be their Cookie CrazyShake, where massive cookies, whipped cream, and wafer rolls top the mighty drink.
Dose’s Mocha Raspberry Granita
Giving everyone their much-needed caffeine fix, Kuwait’s Dose attracts everyone who loves coffee with a crazy twist. They know how to hop on all the latest trends, like their very own drink inspired by Squid Game’s Dalgona, the honeycomb candy.
Along with that, a cool must-try is their Mocha Raspberry Granita, which is basically raspberry and mocha mixed with espresso.
1980’s Boba Blue Berry
Creating immense hype after they expanded beyond Egypt’s North Coast, opening up their first branch in Cairo, 1980 knew how to make some noise. They do it all, from trending mojitos served in canned drinks to boba creations. Our favorite has to be their Boba Blue Berry, made of a unique mix of blueberry syrup and boba.
Sugar Factory’s Lollipop Goblet
If what you crave is a spectacle, nothing can beat Dubai’s Sugar Factory, a bubbly spot that doesn’t just know how to celebrate birthdays but also how to whip up crazy drinks. Meet their Lollipop Goblet.
It is basically served in a massive goblet-shaped glass and can include any type of flavored mojito. When the drink is poured, a mass of smoke rises out of the glass.
Whether it is a dose of boba, a sip of matcha, or a taste of the freak shake, these drinks will not only refresh you but give you a dose of fun.
