‘Shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival’ to Kickstart This Weekend in Cairo

Via Perth Film School

To all film lovers out there, mark your calendars because ‘Shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival‘ is taking place from the 18th to the 21st of October, 2018. For those of you who haven’t attended before, the event is a transnational film festival with a unique twist. It basically takes place in multiple cities on the five continents at the same time, and guess what? Egypt’s beloved capital, Cairo, is one of those cities.

The 6th edition of the festival in Cairo and the 16th one worldwide is organized by film producer, Wael Omar. It will take place in several sports around Cairo including Zawya, Cima, and the US Embassy. The event will feature a collection of short films by both local and international filmmakers. Bearing its three main pillars; film, fun, and festivity, in mind, Shnit will act as a platform for filmmakers to showcase a collection of recently made films. It’s also worth mentioning that previous Shnit winners were lucky enough to be nominated to the Academy Awards short films category.

WE SAID THIS:  Click here for the festival’s schedule or head to their Facebook event for more information.
