This brilliant App Plans On Managing Egypt’s Chronic Street Garbage

One thing Egypt has been suffering from for as long as we can remember is waste management. The beauty of our culture, history, beaches and Nile river is tainted with the chronically garbage-filled streets.

No matter what measurement the government has taken the past few years, the waste always comes back. In every corner in ever district there are piles and piles of filth that take days to be removed.

Finally there is hope and light at the end of Egypt’s tunnel with this new app. Dawar is an application created by Environ-Adapt in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment and GIZ Egypt.

Dawar gives you the upper hand and allows you to report any street garbage in sight to authorized waste collection companies. Take a photo and send it along with your location and apparently, the company will take care of it and send you back a photo of the cleaned area.

The service is currently under trial and is available in Maadi and Torra. The official launch has not been announced yet.

WE SAID THIS: Why have we not think of this ages ago?
