Cairo’s Citadel Music Festival Makes Its Long-Awaited Comeback on August 15
The Salah El Din Citadel Festival For Music is making its awaited comeback! The Citadel is set to welcome music lovers for two straight week starting August 15 for an unforgettable music-filled experience.
The international festival is coming back after being suspended last year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Cairo Opera House, the 29th rendition of the festival will feature over 31 artists from different roasters and genres including international acts.
Some of the acts expected to grace the stage are Hany Shaker, Ali El Haggar, Hisham Abbas and Nesma Mahgoub among many others. As for this year’s international contribution, it includes a Chinese Folk Music performance.
The festival is known for its affordable ticket prices, which guarantee that everyone gets the chance to enjoy the live music. Since its debut in 1990, the festival has remained a unique amalgam of musical acts with a variety of distinct and eccentric identities. Including local and international music, and ranging across various genres and time periods, the festival ensures that attendees of all age groups find at least an act they enjoy.
Egyptians all over are thrilled to finally start attending live shows after a long year of absence due to coronavirus precautionary measures. You can catch the performances anytime during its two-week run from August 15 to 30 making it one of the longest Egyptian music festivals.
