The number of Syrian refugees who have fled their country due to the ongoing civil war has reached two million, according to the United Nations. Half of them are children. An average of 5,000 Syrians flee daily, with about 97% of refugees hosted in surrounding countries, namely Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. (UNHCR / G. Gubaeva)
