The United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) held its 23rd General Assembly in St. Petersburg last week between the 9th and 13th of September. During the meeting, Egypt’s “People to People” tourism promotional video was chosen as the best of its kind in the Middle East.

Last month, the global travel company Beautiful Destinations released the short film in collaboration with Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism in an effort to promote tourism in Egypt.

The Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mash’at has revealed more details about Egypt’s upcoming tourism promotional plan, announcing that in the upcoming stage, Egypt will be aligning itself with a number of prominent international tourism agencies as well as marketing entities including Beautiful Destinations, CNN, China’s Ctrip, Discovery, Expedia Group and Isobar.

In recent years, Egypt has been taking major steps in its tourism marketing techniques, becoming more engaged with travelers from all corners of the earth, regardless of their taste or budget.

“The diversification of marketing and media platforms, a key pillar of the Egypt—Tourism Reform Program, contributes to the changing narrative of the sector.” said Mashat according to Egypt Today.

It is not the first time that Egypt won this prize, as in the 22nd General Assembly of the UNWTO in China, Egypt was awarded the best tourism promotional video in the Middle East.

The ministry’s International Marketing and Promotion Partnerships has three main pillars upon which rests the national tourism reform program. These are the “GEM2020”, promoting the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum of its type dedicated to one civilization; “People to People” (P2P) campaign, which not only brings the beauty of Egypt to light but point out the authenticity of its people as well; and “Branding by Destination”, creating an identity for each of Egypt’s one-of-a-kind getaways.

WE SAID THIS: Congratulations, Egypt! This video is truly a masterpiece.
