An Ode to Lofts

Xmas is coming up soon, and all I want for Xmas is a loft. I’ve always had a fascination with interiors especially lofts, (New York, I’m on to you). Something about the brick walls, the pipes the huge windows.

For those of you unaware of what a loft is, here’s what Mr. Yahoo Answers has to say: “A loft apartment is usually in a converted industrial building. You can find a lot of Unique properties, loft apartments, penthouses, space station when you look a bit further away from what you’d usually look for in a property. One apartment would take an ENTIRE floor with no room separations, except for a bathroom. Meaning your bed is out in the open with your kitchen and living room. They are usually huge spaces and have a very industrial look with exposed brick and pipes and LOTS of industrial windows.”

A loft carries this very artsy hip vibe. No closed up rooms or corridors, just space. And what’s not to love about a cool open space? There’s a place to dance, to do your morning yoga, and an abundance of sunlight that ensures your well-being. Sure, living with someone might alter your privacy a little, but with lofts like these you can kiss your stuck up privacy-wanting ass goodbye. Check it.
