An Egyptian man has managed to become the face of the Egyptian memes in just two days. Mostafa Abu Torta is now the name used as a reference to any infamous groom.

Mostafa’s epic tale started after his fiancé blasted him on social media for escaping in the middle of their engagemnet party. That’s not the weird part though, the groom actually ran away with their engagement cake and all of his family members pretended that his uncle is sick and left immediately.

The story soon went public after the bride shared her sorrows in the form of text screenshots with her ex-lover. Even Radwa El-Sherbiny has dedicated a whole episode to this epic failure of a love story.

Mostafa broke his silence and posted a video on social media explaining the reason why he did it. We love the Internet.
