Mawaweel: A CJC Production

We all need an alternative to the Kheyam and typical Ramadan outings (keep in mind it’s only been 6 days and we are already bored!)

Cairo Jazz has come to the rescue!

This Ramadan Cairo Jazz Club Agency has organized Mawaweel 2012 Festival at Darb 1718 Contemporary Arts and Culture Center.

Mawaweel, is Cairo’s alternative to the cliché Ramadan activities, providing a culturally entertaining environment of live performances, theatrical shows, craft bazaars,  art exhibitions in a relaxed ambiance. Mawaweel will cater to a wide variety of audiences from the music , art and craft lovers, followers of the legendary bands on stage to families seeking activities.

The dates for Mawaweel 2012- Ramadan Thursdays: July 26^th (as in TOMORROW), August 2^nd and 9^th

Here is the schedule for you inquisitive ones, step outside your comfort zone and do something different:

Thursday 26^th July

9.30pm – 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops

10.30pm – 11.30pm: Massar Egbari

12am – 1am: Mawlaweya – Transcendence Ritual

Thursday 2^nd August

9.30pm – 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops

10.30pm – 11.30pm: Basheer

12am – 1am: Mawlaweya – Sufi Jazz

Thursday 9^th August

9.30pm – 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops

10pm – 11pm: Storytelling with Abeer Soliman ‘Shehrazad’s Last Night’

11pm – 12am: Ashara Gharbi

12am – 1am: Mawlaweya – Tannoura
