Karim Kassem’s “Sawah” to Hit Cinemas in Four European Countries This April!

The past year saw Egyptian artists creating waves on an international level, making the entire region proud! One star that has been making a lot of headlines recently is the very promising Karim Kassem. On the 22nd of April, his movie “Sawah” will be hitting cinemas in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

The movie is directed by Egyptian-Luxembourgian director, Adolf El Assal, and written by Canadian writer, Dennis Foon. It follows the story of Samir, a young Egyptian DJ who loves music and gets the opportunity to travel to Brussels to play the gig of a lifetime in Belgium.

Things go from bad to worse when he loses his passport and everyone thinks he is a refugee in Luxembourg, forcing him to escape and encounter many personalities and unexpected situations along the way. The events of the film take place in four different countries in six different languages.

The movie has garnered 12 awards so far and participated in more than 36 festivals around the world. Karim is also taking part in the new TV series, “Kingdom of Satan”, that is scheduled to be aired soon. Moreover, Kassem is getting ready for the second installment of “Awkat Faragh”, his groundbreaking debut movie!
