Innovation Month: Abu Dhabi is All Set With Their Innovator 2018 Program

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) announced on Monday the launch of Innovator 2018 program. This year Abu Dhabi Science Festival will be merged with the week-long event which will start on the 1st of February.

The event will be held on the Abu Dhabi Corniche as part of UAE Innovation Month, featuring more than 100 innovators from all ages showcasing the unique projects. This month is meant to promote creative thinking and inventiveness among the citizens of the UAE.

“The vision of the leadership is to create new culture of innovation,” said Adek Chairman Dr. Ali Al-Nuaimi.

Events are also being organised in Al-Ain, with about 600 students visiting workshops at Al-Ain Mall, Hili Mall, and Bawadi Mall. Adek is looking forward to reach as many people and students as possible, they are expecting more than 40,000 visitors and 7,600 students.

Huda Al-Hashmi, Assistant to the Director-General for Strategy and Innovation at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, said that this year’s innovation month will focus on four main aspects which are the innovative leader, the creative thinker, the change maker, and the inspirational thinker.

Abu Dhabi Science Festival will no longer take place every November as a separate event, instead it will be a week long event each February to coincide with the national innovation month.

After Abu Dhabi hosts the first week of Innovation Month, the next stop will be Ras Al-Khaimah and Fujairah from Feb 18-14. The Third week will be held in Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al-Quwain, leaving Dubai for the fourth and final week of the month.
