In Pictures: Rise and Resist, Anti War Protests From Around the World

Today is the 2nd of October, marking the International Day of Non-Violence.  According to the United Nations, this day is an occasion to “disseminate the message of non-violence, through education and public awareness”. The resolution asserts “the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence” and the aspiration “to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding, and non-violence”

For decades, a large scale of marches and protests take place, where celebrities and politicians march with people to protest against the wars in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and many more violence-related causes. The world has seen its share amount of blood, wars, violence has ended many lives, and filled many more with grief. So, on this day, I want you to remember that your voices can be heard, together we can secure our global peace.
