Google Spills the Beans: The Top Searches In Egypt in 2021

When we count our blessings and friends, it’s only fair that we count google in. Tired, hungry, had a weird dragon-alien dream, or looking for mere entertainment in the middle of the night, Google has always been there for us, not only as a platform that has helped us find answers to everything we have been seeking answers to but also for tolerating the many, sometimes weird, things we googled all year round!

Speaking of stuff people googled, in its annual report, the search engine revealed the topics and names that users have searched for the most in Egypt, during 2021. Ranging from sports teams, public figures, and artworks, Google has given us the all the deets.

Top Searches In General

Al-Ahly Club topped the most searched words in general, followed by the result of the “Thanaweya 3ama” 2021, registration of the Corona vaccine, superstar Sherihan, and the last of which was the Summer Olympics.

Public Figures

As for the names of the most searched personalities, actress Basant Shawky came to the fore after topping the trends multiple times this year, especially at the time of her marriage. In the second place, came the newly-joined Ahly player Percy Tau, and in third place came the blogger Dina Dash; her wedding was literally the talk of the town, and people were following the news up until her honeymoon. With his outstanding performance in several matches, the Egyptian national team player Omar Marmoush came in fifth place.

Movies & TV Series

As for the artistic sphere, multiple Egyptian cinemas and dramas were interesting enough for people to google them. The series category came as follows:

Nasl El Aghrab, El Ekhtyar Etnein, Melouk El Gad3ana, Musa, Lo2lo2l, Squid Game, El Nemr, Le3bet Newton, and finally Khaly Balak Men Zizi.

As for the films, “Reesh” came in first, followed by “Ahmed Notre Dame”, “Msh Ana”, Heneidy’s “El Ens w el Nems” and finally “The Eternals”.
