From Yasmine Sabri To Will Smith: Spotlighting Celebs Attending RSIFF’s Third Edition
The third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival has just kicked off. This huge Saudi gathering is weighing anchor today and shall go on for 10 days until Dec 9. With the motto “Your story, your festival”. Over those 10 days, the festival shall celebrate both local and international filmmaking figures. Many filmmakers and actors are expected to attend, namely: Katrina Kaif, Catherine Martine, Kaouther Ben Hania, Ranveer Singh, Halle Berry, Godus Brothers, and Koran Johar.
Most notably, the festival management had posted today on its social media account that the distinguished Australian director Baz Luhrmann, director of Romeo+ Juliet, The Great Gatsby, and Moulin Rouge will be attending.
The film organizers have revealed on Wednesday that the renowned actress Halley Berry will attend. Berry is recognized for her role in Monster’s Ball which made her the first African American woman to win Best Actress at Academy Awards. In addition to Berry, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, along with German actress Diane Kruger, and Saudi writer Abdullah Al Sdhan will receive honorary awards.
The awards generally represent the festival’s aim to reward creative minds who contribute to shaping the history of cinema.
Moreover, US stars like Will Smith, and Johnny Depp have been announced among the A-list talent set to attend RSIFF. There will be panel discussions in which artists like the Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, and Dhafer L’Abidine, next to Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabri will contribute.
