From Designers To Stylists: Who Is Behind The Fashion In This Year’s Ramadan Looks?

With one week into Ramadan, many things have already caught our attention. Whether it’s the desserts being invented left and right or the shows and ads paired with jaw-dropping performances or meme-worthy content or the… fashion. When a show episode or ad comes on TV, when analyzing every detail we always pause and think where did they get that outfit or who put it together? With that in mind, we’ve curated a list of designers and stylists leaving a marking this Ramadan thus far.

Donia Samir Ghanem – Sara Mrad

Returning to our screens with an earworm for Telecom’s ad, actress Donia Samir Ghanem rocked several looks as she sang her heart out giving us fawazeer vibes. But through the various wardrobe changes, the one look that truly grabbed our attention was the butterfly yellow gradients white gown. The vibrant look was designed by Sara Mrad.

Asmaa Galal & Amina Khalil – Sara Onsi

In the relationship drama, ‘El Harsha Sabaa’ or ‘The Seven Year Itch’ the characters go through many stages of their life; the good, the bad and the ugly. One of the bright moments on the show thus far is when Asmaa Galal’s character, Salma finally marries the love of her life. The fitted beaded gown with a dramatic cape by Sara Onsi was enough to make Amina Khalil’s character, Nadine want to recreate her wedding and by doing so, she gave us a Cinderella-esque satin gown with a chiffon veil. The graceful look was also designed by Onsi. Along with Onsi, the looks were styled by Khaled Azzam.

Ruby – Randa Yousry

For the third consecutive year, Ruby returns with a Fresh ad. This time, the retro campaign has her in a color-blocked red and green dress with a tulle skirt that makes her the focal point throughout the commercial. The vintage look is designed by Randa Yousrey who also created two other looks for Donia Samir Ghanem on the WE ad.

Mai Ezz El Dein – Marwa Abdelsamie

In the period piece show, ‘Souq El Kanto’ starring Mai Ezz El Dein, Amir Karara and Fathy Abdelwaheb, celebrity stylist and costume designer, Marwa Abdelsamie takes us on an authentic journey back to the 50s. With the intricate details in her fashion choices in dressing the characters during the British invasion, clearly showing the European influence.

Also noting that Abdelsamie was the stylist for Ora’s campaign. Fitting actress, Yasmine Sabri in a gorgeous Nicolas Jebran pink gown.

Reham Abdel Ghafour – Marwa Waheed

On the dramatic, thrilling show, ‘Rasheed’ the characters go through many stages. From different wealth statuses to different relationships, stylist Marwa Waheed not only captures these elements through Reham Abdel Ghafour and Mohamed Mamdouh’s characters but also her incredible detail is an aspect that helps differentiates between the two timelines that the characters are in.
