FAI World Parachuting Championship Mondial Dubai 2012
Today is the kick off to a true global event in Dubai, The World Parachuting Championships, which will witness the participation of at least 800 parachutists from 55 countries.
The FAI Mondial Dubai 2012 World Parachuting Championships is among the most prestigious events being organised in the UAE to coincide with the UAE National Day celebrations this year. During the 12-day event, there will be six world championships, 29 world champions, seven parachuting and skydiving competitive disciplines along with one test and demonstration event.
At least 800 parachutists will participate in competitions including formation skydiving, accurate landing, canopy piloting, free fall flying free style and para skiing, for the first time in the Middle East.
The Parachuting Championships is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. It will be held at the SkyDive Dubai location in Dubai Marina (off Al Sufouh Rd, behind Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa).
