Egyptian World Record Holder Ahmed Gabr Strikes Again
Egyptian Guinness World Record Holder Ahmed Gabr, along with 614 divers, took part in the world’s largest underwater cleanup in Hurghada last weekend.
While the project started with a goal of gathering 400 divers for the event, the initiative managed to grab the attention of many more. Each of the 600 plus diving enthusiasts took turns to remove man made waste from an underwater spot in Hurghada over the course of one day.
The event was officially approved by Guinness World Records as the greatest number of participants gathered in an underwater clean up in one venue.
Diver Ahmed Gabr first grabbed the world’s attention last year when he managed to complete the deepest scuba dive in history. The event took place in another famous diving spot in Egypt, Dahab.
His passion for diving continues to shed light on the abundance of extraordinary diving sites in Egypt along the Red Sea.
