This Ramadan served us some serious cautionary tales about who not to let into your life. From the ones scheming for your money, to toxic partners and the endless drama-makers who thrive on chaos, these are the characters we met in this year’s Ramadan series that we sincerely hope you never bump into in real life. Trust us, some of them are best admired from a very, very safe distance.
Hassan
El Sett Monalisa
Where do we even start? Hassan is the kind of guy who would sell his own soul, and probably his lover, if money were involved. He marries Monalisa purely for her land, breaks her heart over and over, and even after their divorce, he can’t seem to leave her alone. Some people come with red flags, Hassan comes with flashing stops signs.
Samiha
El Sett Monalisa
The mother-in-law you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Samiha was determined to snatch Monalisa’s money, force her to live in miserable conditions, and make her slave away at endless household chores, all while preaching about “Bent El Osool.” Some people claim to be traditional, Samiha just takes it to a whole new level of nightmare.
Mohamed
Etnin Gherna
This is the kind of brother you only see in movies. He doesn’t approve of Nour’s career as an actress, yet he can’t stop eyeing her money, while bad-mouthing her on TV at the same time. A brother jealous of his own sister’s success because he never really grew up.
Hassan
Etnin Gherna
The kind of guy who seems too good to be true. Hassan and Nour’s relationship quickly becomes the calm in this Ramadan drama storm, they click, and for a moment, it actually feels perfect. And then he dumps her for his ex-wife. Oh, and he does it over voicemail, because why handle heartbreak like a normal human when you can be that guy?
Dr. Fawzy
Sawa Sawa
A doctor whose childhood with an abusive mother left him battling low self-esteem. Instead of dealing with his issues, he tries to compensate by using his power to hurt Ahlam, all because she reminds him of his mother. Some people don’t just carry baggage; they turn it into a full-blown storm for everyone around them.
Seif
Kan Yama Kan
The kind of relationship you can never trust. Seif suddenly falls for a chef, all while still married. Instead of staying loyal, he keeps sneaking back, and eventually ends up dating both women at the same time. Some people don’t just break hearts, they break all the rules at once.
Shaddad
Efrag
Shaddad plays the part of a generous man, always helping the poor, but behind the facade lurks a very different man. He’s involved in illegal activities, keeps a secret marriage, and is the reason Abbas ended up in jail.
These Characters prove that some things are better left on screen. So, proceed with caution, because you definitely wouldn’t want to stumble onto someone like this in real life.
