In light of the recent tragic event that led to 23-year-old Egyptian Amr Abdel Kader being attacked by a shark in Egypt’s Ain Sokhna, the Egyptian police have released a guide to where they believe sharks are usually present.

- Alexandria (Miama – Agamy): 15 kilometers off shore.
- Hurghada: 10 kilometers off shore.
- Ain Sokhna: 8-10 kilometers off shore.
- Ismailia: 10-15 kilometers off shore.
- Suez Bay: 5 kilometers off shore.
- Sharm El-Sheikh: 5-10 kilometers off shore.
- Ras Sudr (Ab Redees – El-Tour): 3-5 kilometers off shore.
