Egyptian Authorities To Provide EGP1000 Annually For Women Bearing Only Two Children

Egyptian authorities have decided to provide EGP1000 per year for women who have only two children in an effort to slow Egypt’s population growth in the face of the nation’s global financial issue. Instead of receiving the money annually, Egyptian women will receive the entire sum when they turn 45 instead.

The current population of Egypt in 2023 is approximately, according to macrotrends, 112,716,598, which is a 1.56% increase from 2022. With that increase, the government hopes that through these decisions, people will be more aware of how many children they have.

There have been several efforts promoting family planning, as this is not the first time the government has emphasized the significance of reducing the number of children per household.
