This year, Egypt is participating in the World Clean-up Day with four events in different parts of the country. The events will take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Red Sea Governorate, Minya, and Dahab.

In Sharm El Sheikh, a community clean up event will be organized in Nabq Protected Area, in partnership with the TUI, Travco, many diving centers and the Chamber of Diving & Water Sport (CDWS). It will be a mix of hotel staff, dive centers,  community members and schools.

In a similar manner, in the Red Sea Governorate, several smaller-scale Scuba dive site cleanups will be organized through diving centers in partnership with HEPCA.

Moreover, a large community Nile Clean-Up will be organized in partnership with Greenish at Minya. While in Dahab, a Scuba dive site cleanup will be organized through diving centers in partnership with Project Azraq.

“Although we are all different operating entities, we are all coordinating together to raise awareness about single-use plastic pollution & its negative effects on marine life & the environment. We would like to showcase a united front a send a positive message. Also, we would like to inform Egyptians, that our country participated in this International event and promote positivity & community engagement.”
