Dubai Tour 2014 Plans Unveiled

Cycling is coming to Dubai in a big way next year with the much buzzed about Dubai Tour, which will usher in the UCI Asia season, on Feb. 5-8, 2014.

The new race has already attracted some of the biggest names in the cycling world, including Alberto Rui Costa, Mark Cavendish, Fabian Cancellara, Marcel Kittel, Joaquin Rodriguez, Peter Sagan and Ji Cheng. The cyclists will compete in 16 teams of eight riders each.

The routes begin at the Dubai World Trade Center and snake through the city in four stages, showcasing Dubai’s diverse features: The Downtown Stage, The Sport Stage (which highlights the city’s most important sports structures), The Nature Stage (which ends in the desert) and The Old Dubai Stage.
