Dubai Honors Egyptian Philanthropist, Mahmoud Wahid, As Arab World’s Biggest Hope Maker and 1Dh Million Prize

Shaikh Mohammad announced the launch of Arab Hope Makers Academy with Dh50 million to be granted to the academy to support all Arab Hope Makers across the region. Results were just announced last night and we couldn’t be prouder.

Mahmoud Wahid runs a Cairene charity organization, Ma3ana, that help the elderly. The philanthropist’s efforts helped shelter over 1,000 homeless Egyptians, offering them food, and medical and psychological aid. His efforts definitely caught attention.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai presented Wahid with a Dh1 million prize for his community work and he was named the biggest Hope Maker in 2018. Talk about dreams coming true!

“We are going to keep growing this project until we see Egypt without any displaced or homeless people,” says Wahid told Gulf News.

Wahid bested four other finalists, however, each of them took home Dh1 million by the biggest Arab initiative supporting charity.

The five finalists were chosen among 87,000 participants from 15 Arab and 20 other countries. Their work is truly phenomenal.

WE SAID THIS: Way to go!
