Arab Models Hammam, Bahia & Attal Slayed The Michael Kors Runway In New York

Last week was the fashion world’s ultimate event, the New York Fashion Week where US designers got to showcase their latest fall/winter 2023 collections. Among the slew of designers was Michael Kors whose show was dominated by the Arab world’s most prominent models Imam Hammam, Loli Bahia and Nora Attal.

This year, Kors placed a focus on dominant and empowering looks including power suits, sweeping coats as well as flared pants. Bold and daring, some of the designs had a unique twist including evening gowns slashed with cut-outs. When it came to the models, Dutch-Moroccan-Egyptian Hammam wore a fiery red turtleneck dress with thigh high slits paired with a hip-slung bulky brown belt centered with an organic agate stone.

French-Algerian Bahia took on the runway in a black shimmering oversized blazer and black button down shirt while her second look was all about glamour as she donned a grey cape paired with a grey dress and boots. Then came Attal stunning in a turtleneck sheer, flowy brown dress with thigh high slits, matching boots as well as a belt.

The designer placed an important focus on making sure the color pallet of each outfit matched the earthy tones of the winter and fall season, “beautiful shades of taupe and mocha, lots of chocolate brown. I think it’s a nice alternative to black and warm, and people look so great in it,” Kors said to Arab News.

With New York fashion week coming to a close, it was great to see Arab models once again dominating the runaway. Now with Milan Fashion Week coming up next and kicking off on Feb 21, we cannot wait to see more eclectic and innovative designs as well as Arab representation on and off the runway.
