Americans Try ‘Syria-ously’ Amazing Syrian Food for the First Time

With the Syrian Civil War in it’s fifth year and a looming fear of Syrian refugees spreading across the West, especially in America, the rich history, culture and people of Syria are forgotten in the midst of tragedy. The folks over at BuzzFeed took a step towards exploring Syrian culture through their exquisite cuisine unique to the country.

With a confused group of American taste testers, they took on the harshest of liquors (Arak) to the most filling of dishes (Maklouba) and the sweetest of desserts (Knafeh) and even ventured off to try some things Arabs wouldn’t dare eating (Masareen).
