Alexandria Governor Hany El-Messiry Keeps Raising The Bar

On Monday in Alexandria, a man was severely injured in the head and he lost loads of blood as a result. As locals gathered around to offer him help until the ambulance arrived, we spotted a familiar face.

Governor of Alexandria Hany El-Messiry, who was driving by the accident with his family, stopped at the scene. He didn’t just help the man by making a few phone calls, he actually knelt down next to him in the middle of the crowd and was hands-on helping him. This act of kindness lasted until the ambulance finally arrived to bring the man to the hospital.

We interviewed the governor recently; when asked what is his most important message, he replied, “Lead by example”. Seeing him doing exactly that gives us hope that Alexandria is in good hands.

While we’re used to hearing about accidents on a daily basis, we’re not used to seeing government authorities being proactive in the lives of citizens and taking a hands-on approach. What we saw from Governor El-Messiry yesterday is promising and we’re proud to see him raising the bar.
