AI Artists Reimagine Iconic Arab Landmarks as Stunning Homes
AI art is not old news. In fact, in 2018, an AI-generated portrait was sold for a whopping $432,500.
Now, taking over the tech sphere are two prominent AI platforms: Midjourney and DALL·E 2. AI artists around the world open up these platforms, type up extremely detailed and specific prompts and end up with fully generated pieces of art.
Many of them have super creative and trending works of art shared all over social media. Now, when it comes to the Middle East, some of the most popular types of AI-generated artworks are homes and Airbnb inspired by Arab monuments, landscapes, and more. For a bit of fun, here are some of our favorites:
Smack Dab In The Pyramids
When you think of Egypt, you can’t help but think of the pyramids, one of the most impressive structures erected and a testament to the grandeur and power of the ancient civilization that built them. Now, imagine getting to live in that very structure.
One artist in particular made that concept their entire artistic expression. Using Midjourney, AI artist Maria Dudkinathey turns famous monuments around the world into livable homes and Airbnb.
The pyramids were no exception. Check out these awesome interiors of a home with walls of limestone and baked mud bricks, and a looming sphinx protruding out of the wall. It’s time to get a taste of ancient Egypt.
Cliffside Home At AlUla
Did you know that 95% of Saudi Arabia is a desert? That is why, if we envision a unique Airbnb concept for Saudi Arabia, it has to be in the desert.
That is where the Digital Design Lab comes in. It is an AI brand led by Mona Algwaiz, a Saudi Arabian AI artist. Like Maria Dudkinathey, Algwaiz is also all about reimagining famous Arab spaces and monuments into livable homes and Airbnb.
Their main tagline is “crafting dream spaces,” and that is the spirit of their brand. One of their coolest designs is a home set within a cliff of the AlUla desert landscape.
Alexandria’s The City As A Tram
Let’s take a step away from the desert, shall we? We’ll actually make a major detour and uncover the tight cityscape that is known as Egypt’s Alexandria. It is the coastal city where tram lines and narrow streets converge and where the sea claps at the extended corniche.
Seeing as trams and aristocratic buildings overtake the city, one Egyptian AI artist known as Hassan Ragab combined the two to create a completely new concept of a home. What do you think? Would you check in if it were an Airbnb?
Dubai’s Towers Recreated As Green Spaces
Continuing the cityscape theme and that burst of urbanism, Dubai is known for its towering, shiny skyscrapers.
Having so many of these buildings sprawled all over the city means there can be very little green space. That is why a cool concept for an Airbnb in a massive skyscraper would be one interlaced with green spaces.
Meet Dubai AI City, the Instagram account known for re-creating Dubai’s spaces. One of the spaces that caught our eyes was a couple of towers with green spaces protruding out of them, making for a space that combines modernity with nature.
Sandstone Mansion Within Petra
Yes, we are back to desert landscapes once again. All the way to Jordan is a city called Petra, which is extremely unique. It is basically a city that is half-built, half-carved into a rock that is more than 2,000 years old. Now imagine getting to live in a mansion that is part of this prominent archeological site.
Once again, we are going to look at one of AI artist Maria Dudkinathey’s creations. This time, she brought to life a massive mansion nestled among the rugged mountains and wedged between the gorges and passageways of the ancient city of Petra.
Imagine a pool overlooking the endless mountain range or floor-to-ceiling glass walls to make you feel like you are in the mountains themselves. That is what Dudkinathey brought to life.
These are some of the ways that AI can bring to life your inner creativity and showcase the unlimited worlds and concepts that it can create.
