A Scoop Of Hope: Dubai’s Most Popular Cat Cafe Is Also An Adoption Centre

If you’re a cat lover, there must’ve been a time when you visited Dubai’s popular Ailuromania Cat Cafe. This cafe is the ideal place for people who enjoy the company of those beautiful furballs. But what you probably didn’t know is that this place also serves as an adoption centre for some of the United Arab Emirates’ many strays.

Located in Dubai’s Umm Suqeim, Ailuromania is the Middle East’s first cat cafe, with 25 rescue and shelter cats. At the beginning, the cafe’s original residents were strays taken in by the two cat-loving sisters Allaa and Iman, the owners of the cafe. Today, it has taken in cats from a government-run animal shelter in Ras al Khaimah, hoping to increase and promote adoptions. Recently, the cafe has been operating with a limited capacity and sanitization restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once you spend some time with these cats, you’ll surely want to adopt one. Scroll down to see those cute little creatures playing with the owners and customers of the cafe!
