Star Wars Stormtroopers Land in Abu Dhabi Ahead of Movie Premiere
Star Wars fans, rejoice! Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for general release in UAE cinemas in just a couple of days on Dec. 17, 2015. Celebrating the forever fan-favorite sci-fi universe and the seventh installment in the franchise, six stormtroopers from the UK, Germany and UAE made an appearance at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and met H. E. Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54, and the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, H. E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak.
The Galactic Empire soldiers are scheduled to meet, greet and mingle with guests at the second worldwide premiere of the film. The premiere will be hosted by twofour54 in partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Etihad Airways.
The movie features a frontier desert planet, Jakku, that was filmed on location in Abu Dhabi. Twofour54 and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission assisted in the filming in 2014 with over 650 crew members.
