Photo Of The Day: Tokyo Wins 2020 Summer Olympics Bid
The International Olympic Committee announced today that the 2020 summer olympics will take place in the city of Tokyo. Japan’s capital beat out Madrid and Istanbul after a two-year campaign to win the coveted hosting gig. The photo above is an artist’s rendering of the city’s National Olympic Stadium, which was built for the 1964 Olympics and is set to be remodeled for the games in seven years’ time.
