Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has urged people to publicly support Palestine, saying that financial losses are insignificant compared with the lives and suffering of Palestinians.
Speaking during a recent talk in New Jersey hosted by the Miftah Institute, Khabib addressed the potential consequences of speaking out, revealing that his support for Palestine has also come with financial costs, including lost contracts and sponsorship opportunities.
You think it’s not happening with me? It’s happened with us. We lost money too
However, Khabib stressed that money cannot be compared with the loss of life and suffering experienced by Palestinians. He said the financial consequences of taking a stand were ultimately insignificant when weighed against what Palestinians are enduring.
The former UFC champion also called on athletes, celebrities, and other public figures with large audiences to use their platforms to raise awareness, even if their contribution is sharing information with their followers.
“Just don’t be quiet,” Khabib said.

For Khabib, speaking up does not necessarily require a large platform or financial contribution. Instead, he emphasized the importance of refusing to remain silent and using whatever influence one has to draw attention to the suffering of Palestinians.
His message was simple: even when speaking out comes at a personal or financial cost, staying silent is not the answer.
