Get Ready for Pro Basketball in Dubai: New Team, New Home at Coca-Cola Arena

Guess what? There is now a Dubai basketball squad that will be hitting the court very soon. This is all in hopes of introducing professional basketball to the city, and its chairman and owner, Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah, has big plans for the team.

Who Is On the Team?

So far, the Dubai Basketball Squad is yet to be announced, but you will get to meet them soon once they play their first league match.

Where Will They Play?

The new team will call the Coca-Cola Arena their new home. Starting in September 2024, the team will play in the huge 15,000-capacity arena, where crowds can watch them compete with some of Europe’s elite.

During their nine-month season, all the team’s home matches will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena, while their away matches will take place in Europe. 15 games are expected to take place at the Arena, so get ready to nab those seats.

Future Plans?

When it comes to their future plans, the team is going to play in the 16-team ABA (Adriatic) League. The ABA League will feature top clubs from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If the team plays well in the League, they can then play at the highest level in Europe, the EuroLeague, where clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona are regular competitors.

Soon, a full schedule of events will be released, and you’ll be able to witness the team go head-to-head with European teams at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena.
