Palestinian Man Uses Recycled Rubber Tyres To Maintain Pitches
27-year-old Palestinian Madian Helles has created a recycling project in the Gaza Strip to maintain pitches as well as limit damage to the environment and waste reduction. The eco-friendly idea utilizes used rubber tires on pitches to sustain them.
The recycling process first begins with used rubber tires shredded into small pieces with a machine then sprinkled onto pitch grounds to protect the artificial grass, preventing slip and preserving the pitch
Hundreds of thousands are damaged along the gaza-strip causing pollution and in Football Club Al-Shujaia, between 50 kg to 60 kg of rubber pieces are required per year to maintain pitches.
