Mo Salah Becomes Liverpool’s All-time Top Goalscorer & All-time Top Assist Maker In Europe

Following yesterday’s Champions League match between Liverpool and Real Madrid, Egypt’s Mo Salah became both Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorer and all-time top assist maker in the history of the Champions League. Darwin Nunez scored the first goal in the fourth minute as Liverpool fans shook the stadium. Then, Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal in the 14th minute when Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois stumbled while handling the ball resulting in an incredible opportunity for Mo Salah to make history…again.

While Liverpool took the lead 2-0, Real Madrid responded with two goals from Vinicius Junior in the 21st and 36th minutes. Junior’s first goal was a masterpiece and his second goal was very similar to Salah’s goal. As Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s goalkeeper also made a mistake and hesitated a bit before attempting to clear the ball, kicking the ball straight at Vinicius. He then watched as the ball bounced back over his head and fell into the net.

Real Madrid’s striker Karim Benzema scored two goals, while defender Éder Militio added another as Real Madrid prevailed 5-2 to end the game. Following yesterday’s outcome, Liverpool has suffered a string of crushing defeats in both Premier League games and European competitions.
