Netflix MENA just dropped a massive announcement on their social media platforms; Abla Fahita is getting an original show on the world’s leading streaming platform! In the post, they mention that the title is going to be ‘Drama Queen’, and that the release date is set for the first half of 2021!

They also mentioned that the show will feature not only Abla Fahita and her children, Body and Caro, but will also feature Bassem El Samra, Donia Maher, and Osama Abdallah. According to a press release, the show is produced by OKWRD Productions, in cooperation with ASAP Productions & Executive producer Amin El Masri.

Drama Queen is directed by Khaled Marei and written by Abla Fahita with the participation of Muhammad Al-Gamal, George Azmy, Dina Maher, Sarah Murad, and Mahmoud Ezzat.

The series – which is considered as Abla Fahita’s first foyer into the drama world – highlights her human side in an action-packed comedy-drama. The illustrious diva goes on the run after being implicated in a crime. Separated from her children, Caro and Boudi, and shunned by society.

Speaking of drama queens, it’s safe to say that Donia Maher’s role in ‘B 100 Wesh’ this Ramadan is the most successful drama queen in a comedy we’ve seen on TV in years. We’d love to see what the rising star has in store when she takes on a series with Abla Fahita!

Production of the first season of the Abla Fahita “Drama Queen” series commenced in early August in various locations in Cairo, ensuring health and safety measures, and wrapped up in Mid-October. The current staff members are – without exception – in excellent health.

WE SAID THIS: Check out our interview with the director of the first Egyptian original show, Amr Salama!
