However, this wasn’t just any match, it was the final of the Arabian Gulf Cup. The tournament was won by the Iraqi National team, and the runners up were the Kuwaiti and the Saudi National Teams. This was the fifth version of the prestigious cup, and it took place between the 23rd of March and the 9th of April 1979.
