The Giving Movement: This New Dubai-Based Brand is Taking Conscious Consumerism to the Next Level
Made in the UAE and born during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Giving Movement is an athleisure wear brand that believes “small acts multiplied by many people can transform the world”. This brand, which took nine months to create, prioritizes sustainability and conscious consumerism. All their products are made using recycled water bottles and organic bamboo.
Their first collection featured trendy jumpers, t-shirts, hoodies, activewear hijab, and so much more. And while it’s selling globally, $4 from every item purchased will be donated to local charities like Dubai Cares and Harmony House.
Dominic Nowell-Barnes, founder of The Giving Movement, came up with this brand after wanting to change the way fashion was consumed.
“I wanted to create a new model, a movement. A disruptive brand that was not fast, frivolous fashion but deeply meaningful apparel. A brand that was sustainable, that was made ethically in the UAE and a brand that could have a positive impact with every purchase made,” he said.
