Egyptian Artist Resurrects Queen Twosret in Stunning Project Starring Zayneb Azzam
Nothing surpasses the beauty of Egypt’s golden Pharaonic era. The majestic outfits, makeup, hair styling, and jewelry has inspired artists and designers for centuries. The Pharaonic woman has been a depiction of strength and persistence. Living in a time where men dominated, a few extraordinary women, Cleopatra VII Philapator, Twosret, Hatshepsut, Nefertiti, Sobekneferu, and MerNeith, turned the tables.
Egyptian Art Director, Karim Mousa El-Ramly, celebrated one of the inspirational queens in the latest project ‘Twosret‘. “Her persistence was the story. Her tenacity, perseverance and fearless heart, that of faith and conviction, were the chapters. The courageous queen of Thebes reigned as a sole ruler and was the final Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty. She rose up bringing back the glory of her ancestors, traversing her vast kingdom from darkness to the light,” the artist described his movie’s protagonist.
Karim El-Ramly described the project as a great adventure from the very early stages of dreaming about the rough concept to the realization of it. The stunning model portraying the queen is none other than Zayneb Azzam.
“It’s my first time to act and it was with a great director who has a very cool vision. All of this was done with a green screen behind me, so I didn’t expect the outcome to be so detailed and extraordinary. He put a lot of effort into this project and I’m very excited to be part of it. Wait for future projects too,” Azzam told us.
