Cairo Makes It to the Top 50 Most Visited Cities Worldwide in 2018
According to a report by Euromonitor International, Egypt’s capital, Cairo, just earned its place as the 50th Most Visited City Worldwide in 2018. International arrivals to the city dramatically rose from approximately 3 million in 2016 to 4.9 million in 2018.
Out of a total of 100 cities, Hong Kong came on top, followed by Bangkok, London, Singapore, and Macau. It’s also worth mentioning that Dubai came out 7th on the chart. Unfortunately, the MENA region, generally, doesn’t stand at a very good place. According to Bloomberg, “cities such as Jerba and Sousse in Tunisia, or Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt are dropping out of the ranking in past years.”
