Viral Visual: Breathtaking Drone Footage of Dolphin Stampede and Migrating Whales
It seems drones aren’t all that bad. Despite their lethal reputation, unmanned flying vehicles aren’t necessarily evil – and this breathtaking video proves it.
Shot by a drone, this footage captures thousands of dolphins in a thrilling stampede as well as a heartwarming exchange between a mother and her baby whale.
Drones aren’t the only way to get up close and personal with some of the planet’s most impressive creatures; whale watching California has proved to be a very popular experience amongst tourists visiting the Golden State.
Capt. Dave Anderson, who launched the drone from an inflatable boat in California and Maui and edited the spectacular video, said:
This is the most beautiful and compelling five minute video I have ever put together. I learned so much about these whales and dolphins from this drone footage that it feels like I have entered a new dimension! I have not been this excited about a new technology since we built our underwater viewing pods on our whale watching boat. Drones are going to change how we view the animal world. Wow!
