Dubai Plans to Become the World’s Most Popular Tourist Destination by 2025!
According to Business Insider, Dubai is ranked fourth most visited city around the world, but apparently, it doesn’t plan to keep it that way for long. The hottest city in the region comes fourth after Bangkok, London, and Paris, however, they better watch out! The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, revealed a new strategy on Wednesday, that Dubai is aiming for the top spot!
The objective is to attract between 23 million and 25 million visitors a year by 2025. The latest figures for tourism in the emirate show flat growth for the first six months of 2018, with 8.1 million arrivals, whereas last year visitor numbers increased by 6.2 percent. To achieve that objective, Dubai will need to increase the visitors 50 percent, or even more. “Dubai will be the most-visited city in the world by adopting a set of ambitions, development plans and valuable projects that will form a strong foundation to establish Dubai’s leadership.” Tweeted the Crown Prince.
The real challenge is to compete with what is offered by other booming destinations. The World Economic Forum predicts that by the year 2026, the fastest-growing destination will be India, Angola, Uganda, and Brunei.
