9 Ways To Upgrade Your Boring Indomie

Every college student worth the name loves Indomie. Not only is it stupidly easy to cook, but it’s the only thing we could afford back then — and now!

The main problem with it is that it can get pretty boring when you have it by itself, and the flavor sachets aren’t exactly renowned for their nutritional value. So in honor of every college student and broke person out there, we’ve rounded up some kickass cooking hacks to help take your Indomie to the next level.

Turn it into an omelette

The rules of omelette have never been set in stone, so whip out your packet of Indomie and hop to it. All you need to do is boil and season the noodles, chop up some onions, tomatoes, bell peppers (or basically whatever you feel like having) and fry them, add the noodles and pour whisked eggs onto the pan. Tada!

Add peanut butter

If you think we’re cray cray, then you think Martha Stewart is cray cray too, and let us tell you that she is NOT. She went to jail and still stayed strong when she got out like a G. So yes, Momma Martha is not cray cray. Anyway, adding smooth peanut butter to your Indomie is a cheap way to get that Pad Thai taste.

Throw in some veggies

For all the fitness freaks out there, you can chop up some pepper, spinach, cabbage, broccoli or whatever you want.

Use condiments

We’re not really talking about adding mayonnaise to your Indomie, but splashing on a few simple sauces that require no extra cooking. Our favorite options are things like Thai curry paste, fish sauce and rice vinegar, which can all be found at your nearest Seoudi or Metro market.

Add meat

Chopping up and throwing in some chicken or beef is a guaranteed win. As for vegetarians, you can add tofu to bulk up your instant noodle meal.

Add some eggs

You can also make your own egg fried noodles. Boil some water and cook your noodles, then in a frying pan fry up two beaten eggs. Add the drained noodles, stir together and voilà. If that’s not enough egg options for you, you could also poach an egg with your noodles while they’re cooking.

Turn it into a pizza

YAS! You read that right. Pizza and Indomie, aka #NOMNOMNOM. All you have to do is preheat the oven to 425°F. Boil the Indomie noodles for 3 minutes in a large pot then set it aside. Get another pot and spread butter everywhere then put the Indomie in it. Put cheese, pepperoni slices on top of the noodles and bake it for 10 minutes and voila!

Turn into a chicken salad

Boil your Indomie noodles for 3 minutes. Strain all the water out. Cook the chicken and cut it into tiny pieces. Add soy sauce, pepper and whatever vegetables you want and there you have it.

Leave it as it is

Yes! We’ve all eaten Indomie without boiling or cooking them at some point in our lives, and we’ve enjoyed them so don’t lie! Except here, you can add cashews, peanuts, corn flakes and a pinch of salt and pepper.
