‘6 Underground’, a Netflix Film Starring Ryan Reynolds Shot in the UAE

On Tuesday, Hollwood’s A-Lister Ryan Reynolds surprised everyone when he took to Twitter to announce the release date of his latest collaboration with Netflix, ‘6 Underground’.

Filmed shot by shot at the heart of the UAE, the highly-anticipated film will come to the streaming service on Friday, the 13th of December.

‘6 Underground’ was filmed at a number of sites all over the Emirates, including the Liwa desert, Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi.

A number of high-budget action sequences took place in the capital, with one, in particular that included an explosive car chase scene sequence, going viral as passersby captured it go down live on their phones.

According to The National, at that time, Deadpool’s lead actor stated that being in the City of Lights, Abu Dhabi was one of the best things about the film’s production. He then expressed how eager he was to explore the capital once he is done shooting his parts.

‘6 Underground’ has a roaster of Hollywood household names such as Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Corey Hawkins, Adria Arjona, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Payman Maadi, and Lior Raz. Reynolds’ wife Actress, Blake Lively was also seen there with her husband. The couple was spotted having dinner at BBQ Al Qasr in Emirates Palace with members of the cast and crew.

Director Michael Bay, the man behind the Blockbuster Transformers franchise, promises viewers that ‘6 Underground’ will be a collision of Deadpool and Mission Impossible. After all, so far this has been Netflix’s largest production in history with a budget of USD 125 million.
