5 Reasons Why We Wish We Lived in the Era of “Layaly Eugenie”
By Summer El-Morally
Most TV dramas this year have been endorsing us with depression, leaving us in desolation and in despair from killing major beloved characters or tackling the revenge and death theme all again. However, “Eugenie Nights” came to us like the delightful five o’clock tea, making most of us wish we’d take a break from our hectic life and go back to this gracious era.
We can agree that there are many long lost merits of living in the 40s era, whether the eloquent fashion style or the courteous manners and daily life. So, here are some perks we miss of living in Eugene Nights’ Era.
A Very Well Spent Leisure Time
While watching Dr. Farid and Aida’s long romantic dinners and the well spent time listening to music records. Undoubtedly, back then, they had more leisure time, and they knew how to spend it, working on their relationships, enjoying art, and taking long walks together.
Theaters and Live Shows
While we still have this ongoing, it is not as festive and significant as it used to be in that era. The wait and the anticipation of seeing a live performance, musical plays and monologues are indeed jolly to witness and we wish we could see more.
Utmost Femininity in Fashion
This had to be included, and not because it was not relentlessly mentioned enough, but because fashion stood elegantly despite the presence of shortage in fabrics and source of buckles, tarnishes and accessories due to the war. The atomic prints, floral and the extenuated fitting dresses are still breathtaking till this day and Yasmine Elkady, the real hero without a cape, and the fashion designer of “Eugiene Nights”, couldn’t have done her job more perfectly, pinching every stitch right featuring the beautiful actresses.
Sophia’s Pastries
Are we the only ones who drool over some cinnamon pastries and apple cyder whenever Sophia’s scenes in her cutesy place and her welcoming attitude comes? While this is a fan crush related to the TV series, and besides the fact that we are bombarded with sugar buns and new ice cream shop every month in a row, we cannot help but want to go to Sophia’s place.
Elegant Interiors and Exteriors
Hats down and an applause to the few scenes where we were blessed with squeaky-clean, traffic-free streets, and classic cars. The interior setting of breakfast and dinner with multiple sizes of plates and appetizers, also the printed bed sheets and hand-painted wallpapers are really missed.
