28-Year-Old Man Loses His Life in A Drowning Accident in a Sahel Beach Resort

It was the third and last day of Eid Al-Fitr when things took a horrific turn for vacationers at Egypt’s North Coast. According to multiple sources on social media, Ahmed Wasfy lost his life while swimming in Hacienda Bay’s sea. Allegedly, there was an uncovered venting circulation pipe that sucked in the 28-year-old man.

Social media users claim there were insufficient lifeguards during the incident, and it took them over 10 minutes to reach the young man and 6 men managed to pull him out. Sadly, the ambulance was late as well, and attempts to save Ahmed Wasfy by doctors on the beach were unsuccessful.

Social media users have expressed their anger by Hacienda Bay and Palm Hills Development as there was no cover on the pipe, nor a danger warning sign or any safety measure at such a busy summer venue.

WE SAID THIS: May he rest in peace.
