‘Your Photo in the Living Room’: The Hashtag Highlighting Egyptian Humor During the Quarantine
With over 1 million members, the group “Traveller Experience”, which used to be a hub for its members to share their travel pictures and experiences, has now become a place for them to share their pictures during the quarantine.
Under the hashtag ‘Sortak fel sala’, which translates to ‘Your photo in the living room’, Egyptians are sharing their photos while cooking, creatively entertaining kids, and enjoying family time. Everyone is sharing how the boredom of staying at home is making them do things they haven’t done before, like helping their mothers clean the house or prepare the food, for example.
But what we love most about this hashtag, is that it’s proving that we know how to have fun, even during the toughest times.
